Cannobio

Cannobio is a lovely village, bordering Switzerland, located on the north-western shore of Lake Maggiore and at the mouth of the Cannobina Valley.
In the years 2002 to 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011 to 2013 and 2015 to 2021 it was awarded the prestigious FEE environmental award, the Blue Flag.

Since 2011, this town has also been awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club, the important tourist-environmental quality award given to small municipalities in the Italian hinterland (maximum 15,000 inhabitants) that stand out for their excellent offer and quality reception.

The town has ancient origins, perhaps pre-Roman, as demonstrated by some incineration tombs that came to light between the 16th and 17th centuries near what is now Via Campo Rezio.
